THE STORY

THE STORY

We designed the Advanced Suction Chassis as a high-performance line follower frame built for extreme speed and stability. It integrates a dedicated impeller based vacuum system with plastic skirts to outperform conventional LFR designs. This setup assists by generating active downforce just like F1, allowing for cornering speeds that would flip a standard bot.

LESSONS

& LEARNINGS

POWER

& LESSONS

USC CONTROL

The integrated impeller setup has great efficiency, which requires vigilant moderation of it's potential downforce.

We recommend utilizing an input voltage under 5v to the {USC} to ensure low motor temperatures. The recommended PWM value ranges from 0 - 35/25 for 2s/3s batteries respectively at a frequency of 31KHz using timers. Refer to the {USC speed test code} to setup yours.

WHATS TO LEARN?

The advanced suction chassis lets makers learn machine dynamics and real-time design optimization while experimentally understanding the effects of different variables on machine performance.

Advanced Suction LFR Chassis – High Speed 3D Printed Frame with Active Downforce

The TechGeeks Advanced Suction LFR Chassis is the most technically sophisticated robotics chassis available in the Indian maker market. It combines a 3D-printed PLA+/PETG structural frame (120mm × 180mm × 40mm) with an integrated active suction system: a Grade-A 8520 coreless brushless motor spinning a geometry-optimized 30mm centrifugal impeller fan, generating approximately 500 grams of consistent downforce through sealed plastic skirts that press the chassis to the track surface. The included Unidirectional Speed Controller (USC) enables PWM-based modulation of impeller power at 30KHz+, allowing precise control of downforce intensity from 0 to maximum. The entire impeller system operates on a dedicated power rail, isolated from the main drive electronics. The chassis supports TechGeeks ARC8 and ARC16 sensors, Robojunkies arrays, QTR-8 sensors, and any sensor via the universal mounting pattern. The modular PCB tray accepts the TechGeeks Blueprint 01 board or any custom PCB, with N20 motor slots supporting 1500+ RPM high-speed micro motors ideal for competition. The adjustable sensor arm allows wheelbase and sensor-line geometry tuning. Makers using this chassis learn machine dynamics, impeller aerodynamics, PWM-based speed control, power system design, and the real-world physics of downforce-assisted autonomous robots — the same concepts that underpin modern industrial AGV design. If you are looking for a high-speed suction line follower chassis in India for competition robotics, the TechGeeks Advanced Suction Chassis is the only purpose-built product of its kind available at this price point. Free delivery across India on orders above ₹1999. Recommended hardware pairing: TechGeeks Blueprint 01 PCB + ARC8 sensor + 1200RPM N20 motors for a complete Mark 2-equivalent build. Bundle pricing available. Used by competition robotics teams at IIT Bombay Techfest, VIT Gravitas, NIT Trichy Pragyan, BITS Pilani Apogee, and college tech fests across India.

The TechGeeks Advanced Suction LFR Chassis is a professional-grade competition frame for high-speed line follower robots. Its defining feature is an integrated active suction system: an 8520 coreless brushless motor drives a precision-optimized 30mm centrifugal impeller fan, generating approximately 500 grams of consistent downforce through plastic skirts that seal the chassis to the track. This downforce — inspired by Formula 1 ground effect aerodynamics — prevents wheel slip and allows your robot to corner at speeds that would cause a standard chassis to slide off track entirely. Who Is It For: Builders who have mastered the basics (Mark 1 or custom basic chassis builds) and are ready to go fast. Ideal for competition teams targeting podium finishes at Techfest speed events, Robocon LFR challenges, and any college tech fest with a competitive line following track. Also used by researchers studying machine dynamics, downforce effects on autonomous vehicles, and impeller-based actuation systems. Why the Suction Chassis: At high speeds, inertia overcomes friction. Standard chassis robots lose traction in corners above a certain speed threshold — no amount of PID tuning can overcome inadequate mechanical grip. Active downforce eliminates this. The suction chassis lets you push motor speed to its physical limit and trust that the wheels stay on the track. Comes with a USC (Unidirectional Speed Controller) to modulate impeller power via PWM — allowing you to tune downforce dynamically based on battery voltage and track conditions.
